Bowery Lane

Christmas Window Display 2015

Bowery Lane is a refined, rustic, New York style restaurant located on O’Connell Street, Sydney. Located in the heart of the Sydney CBD, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and coffees to the local office workers and is a destination location for young professionals. Following on from the branding and identity completed for the restaurant, Bowery Lane and WASAmedia approached The Distillery to create a unique and engaging window display for the 2015 Christmas period.

The concept was to create a festive creative-display installation in their feature windows, offering Sydney-siders a unique Christmas experience, spreading joy, happiness and spirit in a New York-meets-Sydney Bowery Lane style.

The Distillery designed, produced and installed two feature windows within a one week period. The windows feature a grand scene of hundreds of falling laser cut snowflakes, reaching 4 meters high from street level. The snowflakes surround a custom neon sign and shimmer with the lights’ reflections.

The falling snow sits above a custom made diorama, displaying a playful New York meets Sydney skyline. Hundreds of buildings and elements were painstakenly designer, printed, laser cut and assembled. Amongst some iconic buildings, small playful elements and hidden messages are strewn throughout the scenes.

The window has become a highly visited Christmas display destination in 2015, attracting attention from all walks of life.
