The Royal Albert Hotel has been part of the Surry Hills landscape since 1927. So much history is embedded in the bricks of the Royal Albert – if the walls could talk, they’d tell the stories of those who helped shape Surry Hills into the suburb it is today.
The Royal Albert Hotel approached us to refresh their brand identity and reposition the establishment as a home for craft beer. To emphasise the site’s history and focus on their craft, we created a custom hand lettered logotype which was influenced by the pub’s original signage as well as other historic sign painting around Sydney that dates from the 1930’s.
