Lauren and Clovice

Lauren and Clovice are a fun-loving couple, whose large personalities are equalled only to their even bigger love for one another.

After six years of happiness together, it was Clovice, who in his laid back nature, casually mentioned that they should have a wedding instead of saving towards a holiday.

Excited at the prospect of his proposal, but apprehensive as to how he would execute such a momentous occasion, Lauren contemplated taking matters into her own hands “My mum proposed to my dad and I was getting to the point where I thought… well why not?!”

Lauren’s proposal plan however was foiled by Clovice, who after months of careful planning and secret dance lessons, finally asked Lauren to be his wife by the fountain of Sydney’s Hyde Park.

The proposal was a spectacular show – a flash-mob hip-hop routine, with a complete crew of back-up dancers. If there was any doubt to his intentions, the block letters spelling MARRY ME was enough to get the message across to a tearful and happily surprised Lauren. With the ring and a cry of ‘yes!’, it was time to start planning their wedding.

Like many couples, Lauren and Clovice set out to create a wedding day reflective of their own styles and personalities. With Italian and Lebanese backgrounds, it was highly important their respective cultures and traditions, both rich and vibrant in nature, were recognised and celebrated in perfect style.

With three hundred and fifty guests added to the equation, planning was never going to be an easy feat. With the help of Audrey & Angus Weddings and Events, the couple carefully considered the broad matters, identifying family values which were highly important. Lauren’s mantra – “I wanted my family and friends to be comfortable, happy and experience something different”.

To set the right tone for the wedding, the enthusiastic Lauren created an inspiring mood board of lush greenery, rustic textures, and warm, inviting colours and tones. It wasn’t long before Doltone House at Jones Bay Wharf was selected as the backdrop for what was to be a memorable affair.

To help bring their vision to life, Lauren and Clovice approached The Distillery, sharing their unique story as a couple. Of note, Lauren’s father – a keen maker of homemade delights was to bottle three hundred and fifty vessels of his delicious limoncello as bonbonniere for the big day. With thoughtful personalised touches, little detail including guest place cards, menus and seating charts were planned to help express the style of their day.

Lauren and Clovice’s custom designed wedding stationery suite featured playful illustrations of a lemon garden and hand-lettered script. Each piece was letterpress printed, combining warm grey tones with bright pops of colour, creating a suite that was elegantly colourful and inviting. The lemon garden theme flowed through into the entire , inspiring the floral centre pieces and show-stopping cake.

The wedding was blessed with a sunny day in winter. Lauren and Clovice tied the knot in a traditional ceremony, before continuing onto their reception, where family and friends were treated not to the usual roaming canapés, but with a barbecue! “It was one of Clovice’s requests for the wedding” Lauren laughed. “All he was after was great music, amazing food.. and a barbecue!” By all counts it seems that these boxes were ticked.

The wedding experience for this playful pair was a unique celebration of love and happiness. A fusion of culture, tradition, and most importantly – the bride and groom in their own free-spirited style.
